CRISIS // Nikka X Dfrntpigeon

Seldom do you come across fashion labels that stem from a worthy cause. This month, I'm very proud to be collaborating with dfrntpigeon, an apparel line from New Avenues for Youth that helps young adults who are at-risk of homelessness by providing them with a place to work while also teaching them the essential business skills and experience to make a career of their own.

Expressing who they are through fashion, dfrntpigeon is run by a handful of young adults from Portland, Oregon, ranging from the ages of 16-25. They just recently released their new spring collection during Design Week Portland, which consists of unique, grunge style tees that express who the creator's are by their individual designs.

The name dfrntpigeon (pronounced 'different pigeon') came to be from the "negative perception people in urban areas commonly have of the pigeon as a street pest," says Angela Hathaway, the woman who introduced me to this inspiring brand. I thought that was a creative way of coming up with a name through the symbolism of a pigeon, while, continuously flying about the city streets, have incredible worth and hidden potential as well.

I styled my dfrntpigeon CRISIS Tee with black jeans, a leather jacket, and of course, statement boots.

Dfrntpigeon is more than just a clothing brand. It's a fashion label that raises the voices of the unheard, challenges the perception of marginalized youth, and opens up the doors for many talented and creative people who deserve to be recognized for their bravery and unbreakable souls.

For more information, check out their website at dfrntpigeon.com. View their apparel here. Not only are they stylish, but they're affordable. Plus, you're contributing to a great cause.  Xx-Nikka

Denim skirts xx LucLuc

As some of you may have noticed, I've been creating some collections of different sets involving a variety of pieces by the online store, Lucluc.com! I've been working with them for several months now and I'm so happy that they sent me a few pieces to add to my wardrobe.
Button up skirts are very versatile. This lucluc denim skirt is perfect for any season! You can style it with a turtle neck for the fall, a striped tee for the spring, and a simple black crop top for the summer! Not only are denim skirts an essential staple for any girl's wardrobe, but they can make you look casual and polished at the same time.
For more of my latest collection with LucLuc, check it out on polyvore here!

Stripes and Rompers (Oasap and Nikkas-wardrobe)

Finally! A day off from work. During my one free day of the week, I couldn't pass up going outside to enjoy the wonderful summer weather.
Rompers have been a big trend this year, and with my recent collaboration with Oasap, they were kind enough to hook me up with this black and white stripped romper! I'm in love with piece and you can match it with just about anything. Check out this romper and more at their website here!

DressCast: Outfit Collaboration

Hi guys! I know I haven't posted anything new in a few months (I've technically only posted twice since June of last year), and I apologize! I've just figured out how to customize my blog and I'm finally getting the hang of it!
Recently I've been working with an application called DressCast. It's a creative app that picks out daily outfits for you to wear based on your location and the weather! I've collaborated with them this past week and I'm happy to share a few pictures of my outfits on the app:
This app is incredibly useful in helping you decide what to wear every day of the week! If you're ever having trouble on deciding what to wear in the morning, the DressCast app can relieve you of your stressful last minute decisions while you're hurrying to make it to work or school! You can see my outfits and others by creative stylists by downloading the app here.
I'm already in love with this app and I hope you will find it useful for you too! Xx-Nikka
